As a ready to fly (RTF) kit, the HobbyZone Champ from comes with everything you need to get it flying right out of the box. You will get up in the air within the hour to start your journey into the RC hobby.
For the RC hobby beginner
Now, normally I would say that the RC hobby beginner should start out with a larger electric airplane than the HobbyZone Champ. Why is that? Well a larger RC airplane is often easier to fly since it is more stable in the air and can be flown with a lower airspeed compared to a smaller RC plane.
With that said, the HobbyZone Champ is really for the RC hobby beginner who knows the very basics of how to control a RC airplane model. Anyhow, the RC hobby beginner should probably start out with a RC simulator or find someone to fly dual with in order to learn the principles of flying. The intermediate or advanced pilot will have fun with it from the first take off.
In the air, the HobbyZone Champ is maneuverable and not too fast. This makes it ideal to fly in a smaller flying area if you do not have access to a park. Of course, the bigger flying area the better.
With its light weight and durable construction, the HobbyZone Champ will not break the first thing. When in trouble, throttle down to zero and you will reduce the effects of the crash.
Talking about crashing, the Champ is durable enough but you cannot expect it to take whatever maltreatment, so make sure that you are flying over a grass area.
HobbyZone Champ spare parts
You can get about 10 minutes of airtime on one charge, which is nice. However, make sure that you get some spare batteries right away to get the as much flying time as possible.
Being placed at the front of the airplane the propeller is one thing that may break for you. Always keep a spare one in case of emergency ().
Another item that you can get as a spare part is a complete tail section. I do not know if this is something that will break easily, at least I have not had any incidents with the tail section with the RC plane I have flown.
You will get a lot of fun out of the HobbyZone Champ whether you are beginning the RC hobby or are more advanced pilot. The Champ is a quite cheap ready to fly electric model airplane considering that you will get everything that you need to fly right out of the box.
So get yourself at least one. Make sure that your friend also has one and you will double the fun!
